ABOUT US

We are Sara and Melissa, Italian designers and makers and lifelong friends.

 

We met during our fashion studies in Rome and in the last 20 years, we have gained extensive experience in the fashion, textile and accessory industries in both creative and practical areas in Italy, our home country, and the UK.

 

Our combined skills and expertise ranges from design and product development of fashion and accessories to pattern making, sewing and leather working.

 

We have extensive experience working with leather, vegan materials and most types of fabric.

 

In 2012, we ventured into a common project to focus on our passion for accessories and beautiful embellishments. 

Through The London Leather Workshop, we offer all-encompassing services from design and product development to manufacturing of handbags, accessories and leathergoods. For those who would like to take their designs further, The Appliqué Embroidery Studio can offer a complimentary and unique service, elevating products to another level. 

 

OUR APPLIQUÉS

The idea of our signature embroidered appliqués technique developed from the combination of our skill sets and our shared love for bold, beautiful designs, art and craftsmanship.  

 

We have been experimenting with the process until we found the perfect combination to bring the traditional appliqué techniques to the next level with an innovative synthesis of embroidery and quilting techniques resulting in more or less elaborated leather or textile embroidered artworks.

 

Our passion for the craft is ever-growing and we are constantly striving to further experiment and develop our services for designers, artists and brands.
